The Sound Behind The Forest At Danza Futura, sound is more than a technical requirement. It is one of the elements that defines the entire experience. Set within a forest, surrounded by nature and shaped by a dancefloor that breathes continuously throughout the weekend, every acoustic detail matters. To better understand what happens behind the scenes, we sat down with Conektion Audio, the team responsible for designing and fine-tuning the festival’s sound system.Their relationship with Danza Futura is built on a shared vision: supporting projects with soul, working with precision, and creating a sonic experience capable of carrying every moment of the journey, from the first hours of dancing to sunrise among the trees. “We want people to remember Danza
For those discovering Conektion Audio for the first time, what makes your approach different?
What sets us apart is our connection to electronic music itself. We’ve spent more than two decades immersed in dancefloors, festivals and sound culture, which allows us to understand what events like these truly need. Our work goes far beyond simply supplying equipment. Every project begins with careful system design and continues through every stage of production. We focus on precision, acoustic quality and a close relationship with the people we work with, paying attention to every detail along the way. We’re also among the first premium partners in the Iberian Peninsula working with this new generation of systems for festivals and large-scale events, something that keeps us closely connected to both the technology and the philosophy behind it.
How did your relationship with Danza Futura begin?
What convinced us was the project itself. From the very beginning, we felt connected to the people behind the festival and the way they approach every aspect of it. There’s a genuine level of care, passion and attention that immediately resonated with us. By the second edition, it was already clear that Danza Futura had something special. We felt we could contribute our experience and help elevate the festival’s sonic identity while supporting its growth. Danza Futura represents a way of building things patiently, thoughtfully and with purpose.
What are the biggest challenges when designing a sound system in the middle of a forest?
The environment itself is the biggest challenge. A festival like Danza Futura is influenced by many different factors: humidity, proximity to the ocean, temperature changes between day and night, and the continuous growth of the audience. That’s why preparation is everything. Understanding the space, anticipating changing conditions and building a system capable of adapting to both the environment and the festival’s growth is essential.
This year the main system is based around VOID’s ArcLine series. What makes it such a good fit for Danza Futura?
For us, Danza Futura and ArcLine are deeply connected. One of the first ArcLine festival deployments in Europe took place here, creating a unique relationship between the system and the experience people associate with the festival today. ArcLine offers a combination of power, precision and sonic detail that aligns perfectly with the identity of Danza Futura.
From a technical perspective, what does a festival like Danza Futura require?
The system is designed to deliver both power and consistency across a wide natural environment. The goal isn’t simply to make the system louder. It’s about delivering clarity, depth and impact everywhere the experience unfolds.
When preparing a system for a techno festival, what do you prioritise most?
It’s always a balance between pressure, definition, impact and coverage. At Danza Futura, coverage and consistency become especially important. The objective is to maintain a coherent sonic experience throughout the entire site, allowing every area of the festival to remain connected through sound.
Once the festival opens, how do you ensure the experience remains consistent throughout the weekend?
The work never stops. Throughout the festival we maintain constant monitoring, with technicians continuously adjusting the system in real time as conditions change. A sound system isn’t something you simply switch on and leave unattended. It evolves together with the festival itself.
After two days of music among the trees, what would you like people to remember?
We’d like them to remember sunrise. Those special moments when the light begins to break through the forest, the music feels perfectly placed, and the atmosphere becomes impossible to replicate anywhere else. Ultimately, we want people to remember Danza Futura as something complete: the music, the forest, the community and a sound system that accompanies every step of the journey.
