Voices From The Forest: Oxygeno

IBERIAN TECHNO, LOST VERSES AND DANZA FUTURA

As we move closer to Danza Futura 2026, we speak with Oxygeno, a respected producer from the Spanish techno scene whose music moves through hypnotic atmospheres, emotional tension and a strong sense of the dancefloor.

His presence in this year’s lineup feels especially meaningful for us. Oxygeno represents the kind of artist that connects with the next stage of Danza Futura: producers with a clear identity, a personal language and a sound that can grow naturally within the atmosphere of the festival.

For us, he also embodies this new era we want to propose with Danza Futura: a deeper, more immersive and carefully curated vision of techno, where the connection between sound, nature and community becomes even stronger.

With a solid catalogue of productions and an increasingly present role across contemporary techno lineups, Oxygeno brings together depth, intensity and intention. His sound feels made for a setting like ours: immersive, physical and open enough for each person to experience it in their own way.

In this Q&A, we talk about his creative process, his influences, the vision behind Lost Verses, and what it means for him to join Danza Futura 2026.

Your sound as a producer

What are you really trying to express through your productions?

I rarely sit down with a fixed idea in mind. Most of the time I just let things flow naturally and see what comes out. Some tracks reflect tension, nostalgia, personal moments, or certain states of mind. Still, I always try to give each track some kind of intention or meaning.

I’d like people to simply let themselves be carried away by the music. Since it’s quite abstract, everyone can experience it differently. If it triggers any kind of emotion, then it already makes sense to me.

Building a DJ set

What matters most to you when you’re playing?

The main goal is for people to enjoy the moment. From there, I try to build a journey with different levels of intensity, letting the crowd sink into the sound and follow the flow.

I’m drawn to hypnotic and atmospheric sets, with a strong low-end presence and a clear focus on the dancefloor. The mood always changes depending on the time, the venue, the audience, and even my own state of mind.

At the end of the day, I just want people to lose themselves in the experience and enjoy the ride.

Influences & hidden gems

Which artists or scenes have shaped your vision the most?

A lot of different artists and genres have influenced me over the years. I’m always trying to discover new music and artists with a strong personality and a unique approach.

Within techno, my biggest influence is definitely the Iberian scene, from the founders of PoleGroup to artists like Endplate or PWCCA. I’m also a huge fan of Planetary Assault Systems and the Swedish scene around Northern Electronics, SHXCXCHCXSH, or my friend Lakej.

Discovering music

What makes a track stand out to you?

Usually it’s very immediate. If I hear a track for the first time and it makes me feel something, then it instantly catches my attention.

After that, I also think about whether it fits into my sets and how it sounds technically. Sometimes a track can be emotionally powerful but not work properly on a dancefloor.

The perfect balance is when a track manages to do both: transmit emotion while also working effectively in a club context.

Lost Verses

Why did you decide to create your own label?

Lost Verses is a very personal project for me. It gives me complete freedom to release music without any filter beyond my own vision.

That freedom also extends to the artwork and the overall concept behind each release. I always try to make the visual side and the music feel connected, like they belong to the same world.

I’d also like to keep opening the label to music from friends and artists I really admire, although releasing everything on vinyl makes it harder to maintain a constant schedule.

New music & evolution

Do you feel your sound is entering a new phase?

Since starting the Oxygeno project, I’ve changed a lot personally, and that naturally reflects in the music too.

I feel like my sound has become harder and more direct over time, while still keeping the same core identity.

As for upcoming releases, I have a new EP coming on a label I haven’t worked with before, a split EP with a Spanish artist who’s doing really well at the moment, plus some special remixes and VA appearances on the way.

Danza Futura & the forest

What does playing Danza Futura mean to you?

I’m really excited to play at Danza Futura. I think it’s a beautifully curated festival, with a very tasteful lineup and a strong identity.

The setting is incredible, and so is the crowd. I’ll try to create a set where people can fully immerse themselves and enjoy the experience as much as possible.

I’ve also known the organisers for a long time and have a lot of affection for them, so it’ll definitely be a special moment for me.
